The Test of Time (South and Central)...

Time tests. That is a universal truth. It tests our spirit. It tests our body. It tests our mental capacity. So what wins? What is able to withstand the test of time?

You may write about whatever you wish, but at some point I want you to incorporate the following fill-in-the-blank answer in your response:

"I never get tired of hearing______________."

  1. I never get tired of hearing, music. If we look back on our history, for as long as we've had recordable human history we've had music. Wheather it be cave men bashing rocks about or Africans playing drums it's always been apart of our culture and evolves as we do. When new instruments are invented or new genres are being played. Music evolves to fit humanities emotion which is why it's refered to as a "universal language." That and it's notated the same no matter what. :p

    1. The speediness of your response is impressive!

And as for the content, I could not agree more. I do believe the music withstands the test of time. So I suppose a follow-up question for YOU is what song is the most timeless for you?

I never get tired of hearing music, because it can comfort me and make me happy. Plus I never get tired of singing. Music is one of the one things that helps me express myself and helps me express what I am feeling.

  4. I never get tired of hearing laughter, another's or my own. Laughter is a time and place where happiness is shown. It's extremely cheesy but completely true; laughter is what brings together me and you :D
AW I FEEL SO CUTE FOR MAKING IT CHEESY AND NICE. Applause for happiness

    1. This is also very cheesy but I love going to school to hear laughter. Is that sick and twisted? I hope not.

  5. I know that I am important, but is nice to hear it from other people and know that they care about me. I never get tired of hearing "you matter". Everyday I make mistakes, but when people say that , I feel that they forgive me. Whenever I hear these words, it always makes my day.

    1. What is this falafel thing...? I saw it on the outside of a restaurant's sign and the only conclusion I can come up with is that you all say "falafel"' when something is good?

    2. Found this on wikipedia, Amber.
Falafel is a deep-fried ball or patty made from ground chickpeas, fava beans, or both. Falafel is a traditional Middle Eastern food, commonly served in a pita, which acts as a pocket, or wrapped in a flatbread known as lafa; "falafel" also frequently refers to a wrapped sandwich that is prepared in this way. The falafel balls are topped with salads, pickled vegetables, hot sauce, and drizzled with tahini-based sauces. Falafel balls may also be eaten alone as a snack or served as part of a meze (appetizers).

  7. I never get tired of hearing positivy. This doesn't make sense I know, but I enjoy hearing positive things and people feeling confident. I love the word "hope," I love hearing people still have faith. In a world filled with negativity, I will never get tired of hearing positivity.

  8. Well, i just tried posting, but I don't think it showed up. So, if this is a repost, then sorry.
I never get tired of hearing everything happens for a reason. When I hear this, it brings me comfort because I have reassurance in the fact that God doesn't make mistakes. Nothing is a mistake. Therefore, everything happens for a reason.

    1. Sometimes I think we make mistakes or actions in general ourselves that God did not intend for us to make, but He knew would happen. Like when Joshua ran away and was swallowed by the whale. If he would have just listened from the start, he wouldn't have had to learn the difficult way. (and gross way. Swallowed by a whale? Yuck. And scary)

  9. I never get tired of hearing that I am not alone. It's a cliche phrase and I realize that, but it gives me such a reassuring feeling. It's so good to know that I am not by myself in a certain situation. I'm not sure how to describe it other than it fills me with warmth.

  10. I never get tired of hearing my favorite music. Though I may be listening to the same thing over and over again, sometimes i catch different sounds that i didn't notice before, or i focus on a different instrument every different time i listen to the song(i tend to lean towards drums)

  11. I never get tired of hearing the voices of others. I love hearing what everyone else has to say and what they think. Sometimes not everyone feels comfortable talking in front of everyone. Those are my favorite voices. The ones that you rarely hear but you know are special and say such important things. The ones that find it difficult to speak out randomly. They have to find a full time in the conversation to say what they want to say. Those are my favorite and I know that I'll never get tired of hearing them.

  12. I never get tired of hearing people. I think it's pretty neat that we're all given our own voices, none quite exactly the same as another, and have the freedom to talk whenever we feel we want to. There are times when people's voices do get annoying, but after too much time alone, you start craving to hear the sound of people. That's why I'll never get tired of hearing people.

  13. I never get tired of hearing the sound of a stable heartbeat. The steady thumping of my heart or of others just brings comfort to me. It lets me know that I am alive and that is something to be cherished.

  14. I never, ever get tired of hearing a thunderstorm. When I was a young image of life I lived in a small town in Arkansas that frequently had thunderstorms and tornado sirens. They always scared me, but it was in the moments when my family would huddle together in a safe place, calling other family members to make sure everyone was okay, that I found eternal refuge--the knowledge that love, in general, conquers all. Cheesy of me to say, as per usual, but nevertheless something I believe in

  15. I never get tired of hearing "I love you" because it makes me happy to know that I have an impact on someone's life.

  16. I never get tired of hearing the joy in someone's voice when they talk about something they are passionate about. For me, I get most of my pleasure from seeing and hearing others being happy. When I hear someone talk about something they are so interested in (music for example) I get equally excited and devote my attention to what they have to say. Passion is a timeless trait.

  17. I think this is an interesting thought. If you really think about it, for something to stand the test of time one could say that something "never gets old". I think that relative to time, we would get tired of hearing something constantly. To fill in the blank: I never get tired of hearing change. Can I say that? I love music but I loathe the thought of hearing the same song every moment of my life, even if its a great song. It would be like taking something that means so much to you and turning it into something mundane. Eventually, we would tune it out, like we do with most common noises. I think most people need a little variation.

  18. I never get tired of hearing other people laugh. It makes me happy knowing that others are happy, or in a good mood. I guess that maybe this is cliche, but it's true. I like being able to hear other people's joyousness or optimism.

  19. I never get tired of hearing the passion in someone's voice. It always really hits me when people start getting really in depth with something they care a lot about, regardless of whether or not I know what they're talking about. I just really like listening, because I like when people want to hear what I care a lot about.

  20. Hey Mr. Torres.
I know you will see this because you get notifications when people comment or post.
Or maybe you won't see this and somebody else will.
Maybe no one will see this.

Anyway, I just honestly want to say thank you for this blog. I've been extremely vulnerable in my emotions these past few months, and especially tonight.
I went online looking for a place to express my feelings without negative judgement. I ruled out Facebook, I don't have a twitter, and my Instagram is strictly for photography and occasional autobiography.
I thought of the blog and decided to post and now I feel a little more relieved.
This creative writing community is something special. It will always be something more to me.
    Thank you
