Before We Conquered It

This is the sound of the Earth
Before we conquered it
The sound of Heartbeat
Before we stomped it
I guess this is God’s voice
But I think we silenced it
The fire of a gun
The rage of the riot
You think insanity’s bad
But we’ve all tried it

I am a newborn child
Crying for his mother
I am CAIN
Who was ABEL to murder his brother
And this world is a crime scene
No blanket could cover
And we’re so far gone
That we’ll never recover

This is the world
In the palm of my hand
I’d crush it if I could
But I don’t think I can
The crowd yells, screaming out
“Just be a man!”
This war we call Earth
Was over before it began

Better mad with the world
Than wise and all alone
There is no place for the truth
No glory for these bones

I can feel my heart beating
A mile a minute
Madness becomes sanity
When you’re finally within it
And this is our reality
That the bloodshed has no limit
And as the blood runs dry
All I can do is condemn it

Silence to the death of peace
We do not honor it
For silence was the sound of Earth
Before we conquered it

Everyone understands Everyone

So, my question is what would happen if all languages converged into one that everyone was able to understand. How would this affect people, would it change our cultures or diminish the diversity of the world. Would this be beneficial to the world or take away from the complexity of Earth. What are your views on this concept, and please further explain your feelings.

Showcases Of The Immortals

Hey guys. It's The Niz, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion of MCHS, with something I just couldn't help but post. I apologize to Mr. T for posting when I'm not scheduled to, but I really can't wait to get this down. I just had this idea and I think I'm going to get some very interesting responses.

So anyway, March 29th marks the 31st Wrestlemania and Wrestlemania for years has been called the "Showcase Of The Immortals." When you work for the WWE, you work your entire career in the company for your "Wrestlemania Moment" because that's how you know you've made it. It means you've proven you are at the very top of your game. Your match at Wrestlemania, whether you win or lose, is usually near the top of your list of your favorite matches. I'll post a link at the end of this of some WWE Superstars sharing their favorite Wrestlemania matches.

The thing about Wrestlemania is that since it only comes once every year, you know that every moment counts on that day. Whether your one of the men in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal, in a match against Undertaker, who until last year's Wrestlemania, was undefeated at Wrestlemania with twenty-one consecutive wins at Wrestlemania until Brock Lesnar became the man to end the famous streak at Wrestlemania XXX last year, or even if your in the Main Event for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, you know you've amde it when your competing in a match at Wrestlemania.

So here's my question, how do you know you've made it to the top of something? Whether it be in a school sport or something else, how do you know that you've proven to yourself that every time you told yourself "I can and I will" that no matter what happens at the end of it, you still feel a huge feeling of accomplishment? For me, it's when I complete something nobody else thought I would be able to complete in a million years. That's when you can look at the world square in the eyes and just say "Bring It. What's next?" So when do you have your moment that you've waited all that time for and at the end, no matter the outcome, you know you did something great. Leave your responses in the comments section below.

Because Torres wouldn't work shop my poem you guys should!

Hey critique please :) (because poetry unit)

How can the grass be so green?
Why is this scene so serene?

How can this world be so mean?

How can the sky be so blue?
Because it reflects the ocean that separates me from you?

An ocean so wide, but your just in the other room.

I can't speak to you.

Not like this.

Because the knowledge of pain hurts.

And your ignorance is bliss.

Get It Out Of My Head!

It's Three-Sixx-D's first blog post!!! Now before I get to my actual blog post, I want to invite both students from Central and South Campus to comment on this because EVERYONE has this problem.

So, here's the actual post question. You know that one song you are constantly getting stuck in your head? Yeah, THAT one. That one you keep muttering over and over and over and over and over again. The one that no matter what you do, like listening to every other song in your library, but even after that it's STILL stuck in your head. Then you turn into Queen Elsa and start singing the song "Get It Out" instead of "Let It Go." For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, I'll attach the lyrics now:

"Get it out! Get it out! Get this song out of my head!
Get it out! Get it out! I'll sing anything else instead!"

Yeah, but the only thing that's worse than having that one song stuck in your head is when you've got that one song stuck in your head and you don't even know the actual lyrics. You start filling in the lines you don't know with the word "something" in tune to the song.

So, there's my question that I chose from my long list of things I wanted to post about. Hopefully, I'll be able to post another one before the school year is over. So, what is that one song that's always stuck in your head? Leave your responses and links to the song in the comments section below.

By the way, the song that's always stuck in my head is "This Is Gonna Hurt" by Sixx A. M. Here's the link:

Fate and Destiny (Central)

We all have our own path in life. Many think it is their's to control. Others think a higher power has a say in it. Some leave it entirely to fate, or wherever the wind takes them.

There are loads of philosophies regarding this realm of thinking. Do we really have free will? If we do, to what extent? If not, why not? As humans, we are always asking questions and seeking answers. I seek your answers-- so tell me your thoughts on all of this, though, my direct question for you is this:  Do we have full control of our destiny? And where does fate come in to this equation?

Central Guest Blogger

This past year I learned one of the most important lessons of my life—conscious living.  I learned this from my mom as she lived the last 6 months of her life.  Every day she lived to the fullest and when her final moments on this earth came to an end I found myself celebrating my mom; an emotion I did not think was possible in the face of death.  I was celebrating what she modeled for me—her mantra--This is not how I thought my song would go, but I can still dance.  I now start every day by stating my mantra.  A mantra comes from the Eastern world and its root word means to think.  Reminding myself what is important to me everyday, allows me to recognize and value my life and to move through the challenges and joys of each day with a solid purpose and focus of who I am.  I will share my Mantra with you:
Carpe the bananas out of this Diem.  Live Well, Laugh Often, Love Much.  When you know better do better.  Be my most authentic self.  Do not dig my grave with my fork and knife.  Take the time to be healthy so I do not have to make the time to be sick.  Less Space, Less Things, More Life.  Every action you take is a choice about the effect you want to have on the world.
My mantra comes from a series of quotes I have stumbled upon.  I love quotes and I am always writing them down.  What do you value?  Do you have a mantra or motto?  How did you come to discover it? (Book, music, quote, personal experience)  If you don’t have a mantra, will you begin to explore your values and create one?

There are 86,400 seconds in a day, thank you for sharing some of them with me!

Bolek :)

Blog-o Por Favor

Hey there fellow bloggers. My son Aidan always likes to play “Would you rather”, but I am going to change it up and say, “Could you ever…?”  Could you ever imagine not having control over your body, your mind, or your words?  Being a teacher, I get to witness all different kinds of people. We are all born with things that are easier for us to do than they are for other people. I decorate cakes, and it’s probably easier for me than for others.  Some of my students were born math geniuses, and others were born to read.  But what if you were born with the difficulty to control yourself?  Can you imagine being different than the average student?  Can you imagine people judging you when it is so difficult for you to control your words, corky behavior, or physical movements? Could you every accept people and be nice to them knowing that others are judging that person for being different?  I have witnessed this in some of my students.  There are always going to be people who are different than the average “bear”, but could you ever be one of the few who accepted those who are different?

Just a thought.  “Could you ever…?”

Button Poetry

for my blogpost I also want to talk about poetry. it is kind of similar to katelynn's post but for my blog post I want to focus on slam poetry, button poetry & youthspeaks on YouTube. I spend quite a lot of time there and I want to share them with other people. so I would like each of you to either:
1: copy/paste a link to your favorite video on button poetry, slam poetry, or youthspeaks and explain why you like it so much or why it speaks to you. or
2: if you have not seen many of these videos or wish to see more, watch one that you have never seen before, copy/paste the link, and explain the things you liked about the video, the message, the speaker, etc. you can do both options if you want to and are interested in this topic (rane) because I know how addicting these videos can get. you can also post more than one if you wish.
enjoy! namaste, falafel, & let's grind.

The Test of Time (South and Central)...

Time tests. That is a universal truth. It tests our spirit. It tests our body. It tests our mental capacity. So what wins? What is able to withstand the test of time?

You may write about whatever you wish, but at some point I want you to incorporate the following fill-in-the-blank answer in your response:

"I never get tired of hearing______________."
