Ohkay guys, if you could create your own utopia what would it be? Explain why you would have life be this why.

  1. Well since this is completely ficitional, I don't feel bad in anyway for the selfish world I have envisioned. In my utopian society, I would be the ruler of all mankind. Basically I would make everyone do as I say because who doesn't always want their way? My guidelines to perfection would consist of only 2 children per household (keep the population down). Everyone's eyes must be brown (so that way my blue eyes seem special). And everyone has to abide by strict rules that I would set out for them.

I would hate to be a peasant in my utopian society.

    1. No offence, and I mean this with all due respect, Katie, if you were the ruler of all mankind, I'd be scared for my life. As much as I dislike one or two of my siblings, I still like one of them usually and sometimes a second one. (I'll let you figure out which one I always dislike. Hint: It's not Zack nor Marissa.) And what about Hazel eyes? My eyes change color occasionally. Sorry if I'm coming off mean, but you scare me with this. You just seem to nice for that. The brown eyes thing makes you sound like Hitler and his "Aryan" Race. Just sayin'.

    2. I think Katie is capable of ruling without obscene oppression

    3. I found this to be extremely funny, but it would really suck to be a poor peasant in 'Katie Kingdom' and brown eyes.. boring.

    5. Question for Katie: how would you regulate and control the number of kids people have? Surely you are not an advocate for abortion?

    6. Amber, although this does kind of copy the giver, i would assign children to families from birthing mothers.

    7. Katie, I honestly never would have guessed that you would envision that! Just goes to show you that people are more that what they may seem on the outside.

    8. Sounds like Jocelyn will be steering clear from you for awhile ^^^

    9. I didn't expect that either haha, but I think that's what I like about yours the best. I think everyone would kind of want to have things their way, but you're the only one brave enough to say it. Bravo.

  2. Ah, my Utopian society. Well, if you read my short story, you know what my Utopia is. Of course, I keep having to fight German-Europe's Leader, General Anthony Puch, for some countries. My Utopia is in my short story I wrote for CW2. Currently, I'm President of "Great America." I rule over the USA, and also rule over Mexico, Canada, Greenland, all of South America, Great Britain, and Japan. Puch rules over Germany, Russia, the Middle East, and pretty much all of Europe. Both of us have allies in other countries. But my mission is to unify the earth as one "Great American Nation." Of course in order to achieve that, I have to take over the countries that Puch controls as well. I've already developed some weapons for me to use in the war against Puch, like the Atomic Gamma Bomb, the most deadly weapon to ever be designed(It's an Atomic Bomb infused to release Gamma Radiation when it detonates.). But, my Utopian society involves me as the most powerful man in the free world, which is now more than just America. But Puch and I are still at war against each other. So wish me luck in achieving my Utopian Society.

  3. I cannot say I have ever pondered on this before, so I guess it's good you ask. In my own utopia, people would not be afraid. Evil will exist, for we need it to balance with the good, hence "necessary" evil, but the people of my world would live happily and heartily without fear. I would want people to sing whenever they please and as loud as they want, even in the most inappropriate of times. It would remind me of how every moment is unique in its own way! I would want the people of my world to be united in their diversity. Strange looks and hair and eye colors, everything.

Not going to lie, this is extremely difficult for me to answer. My instinct is to remove all evil, but we really really need the evil in the world, like I said. To be honest I would hate a utopia anyways. I don't know. This is mind boggling. My mind has been boggled.

    1. Wait, how exactly do you live with no fear in the world yet have evil in existence. That doesn't make sense! Isn't evil something to be feared? Can you please clear this up?

    2. I know, I know. I was confused in trying to explain as well! It's difficult to grasp, but hear me out. There can still BE evil. There can be spiders and giant octopi and skeletons and freight trains to scare people (all my own fears) but fear is a psychological concept--a figment of the imagination!
Fear is not real. We make it up in our heads.
In my utopia, I don't want people to be afraid of things they do not know or understand. I just want them to be fearless.

  4. I think that the sheer concept of a utopian society is vast and could be described for days and days. But to keep things simple, if I could create my own 'perfect' society, I would first erradicate all disease. Pain and suffering would be abolished and fear, anxiety, and worry would be lifted. Emotions of good would be all that was left. Nature would be respected and everyone loved. Each person would be given a sole purpose or job that they got to do. There would be one global city, that was green and innovative. The surrounding lands would be used for small farming and for nature to thrive again. Peace would be found and everyone would respect and enjoy each other's differences. The world we live in now is pretty much the opposite of this and I know there is not much that can change. A utopian society would be a truly amazing thing to have but perfection does not and can not exist, thus a perfect society can't obtain this either.

    1. I don't know some of this sounds like the setting of The Giver...

    2. The giver was a shady society... I like truth not hiding everything from society

    3. LOL Katie that was a great connection! And Danny your rebuttal was on point. This is interesting. I sort of like the idea of one sole job or purpose, but then again I don't

  5. Hmm.. I would like to have a happy balance of order and freedom. I think there needs to be some sort of leader but I think its kind of a good idea to have a group or counsel or something. I would also want a small peaceful society, but I guess not totally isolated. ??? I feel like theres always going to be problems with stuff like this though.

  6. My utopia would be people that thought like me, even though that does sound scary and i would hate it the thought that people would have the same opinions as me makes me happy.

    1. Sounds like a display of self-affection. Where would the fun be in everyone agreeing with you? Arguments are what make the world grow. if we don't question, we don't grow.

  7. I would create a utopia in which violence against each other was impossible to commit. Groups such as ISIS would be unable to cause the same destruction that they do within our society. People would still be imprisoned as punishment for wrongdoings, but heinous crimes such as rape and murder would not exists.

  8. I would have to create a Utopia where families were near perfect. There would be no divorce, or unhappiness between spouces. Sure there would be occasional arguments over the cleanliness of the childrens rooms but overall there would be no major issues. Happiness in the family would also spread to happiness with neighbors and although there would be minor disputes there would be no MAJOR issues.

    1. This scares me. Like I told Sidney, arguments are what make the world go around. If we don't question, we don't grow. Who wants a stagnant life? For example, if we don't question our relationship with our spouses, then how will we know this is the best for us? Absolute perfection is, without a doubt, a complete myth and will never be attained--and for a good reason! We need imperfection

  9. I don't think I could create a Utopia because in every Utopian book, something terrible always happens. I think that perfection is impossible. I wish we could live in a perfectly happy world, but even in a utopia, it isn't possible.
