Describe Your Sences

Have you ever thought about the scent or taste of something? Have you ever tried to describe it? I'm challenging you to describe something you taste, smell or hear. It can be the taste of bubble gum, or the scent of coffee! Pick anything and explain it to someone. But, there's a catch. You can't describe how something looks, we do that too much. So, think about your favorite food or sound of the day and describe its sound, taste or scent! Be creative!

  1. It's cold and quenching as it flows through your desert mouth. It has no flavor but when it touches your parched lips it tastes better than anything.

  2. My little brother's feet running across the hardwood floor: You can hear the innocence in the light, quick pounding as the small lively soul bounces around the house. In hearing this, you can share in the feeling of joy and delight. The weight of the world not yet forcing the small anatomical structures to sink into the wood; the metronome of an individual free of care and worry coupled with the pure sensation of living.

  4. It cries out from little kids as they wake in the middle of the night,
It comes with fear, rejection, or a breakup.
It consumes your soul with sorrow or happiness.
    This can go both ways

  5. I went to noodles and company today and figured I'd describe this marvelous meal.
The first element you feel is the crunch. It's not strong, like munching into a lollipop, but not as soft as chewing on gum. It certainly tastes leafy and bitter, but the liquid that the chef gooped on helps quite a bit. You can feel the sesame seeds gritting between your teeth, and you know you're going to need to floss later. Both spicy, yet sweet, the tang of the dressing soars throughout the mouth, leaving no taste bud untouched. More forkfuls of the fabulous cuisine greet the crunching orifice that is your mouth, only this time you've managed to scoop up bits of meat stained with vertical char marks with a fistful of string sliced cheese on top of it. Again, there is the explosion of dressing, dripping and crunching, but this time the spectrum of flavors has expanded to include the smoky sweet chicken and cool, smooth cheddar. As the contents of the plate begins to dwindle, your appetite does, too. Swelling with salad, you smile and ask the waitress for a box.
It's the Chinese chop salad. :P

  6. It's as soft as the fur on my caramel moccasins. Air and strands move through my fingers. I pet and scratch my pretty kitten, his fur as smooth as a silk scarf.

  8. A negative aura encompasses and doubles to create a friend. We laugh, we talk, to no end. But my friend could be stripped away, but must she stay? No matter what they say? We will run away this day!
So that not one may fray, or allow to decay, the trembling voice I hear,
    day after day after day.

    Any guesses?

  10. My tired eyes are heavy. They get blinded as my phone lights up with your name. The night is young, but the day is coming to an end. My ears ring with joy when I hear it blow. My favorite part about hearing this sound, is that its a a daily reminder of how much I love you. Then you wait four minutes to hear my love for you.

  11. My throat is burning, my eyes watering, and my body is coughing up a storm. As I slowly slide the spoon into my mouth, the sweet, fruity deliciousness coats the inside of my mouth. The cold soothes my throat and the rest is my favorite thing in the world; Mango Sorbet.

  15. When my hand pulls open the heavy wooden door, a blast of warmth and knowledge embraces me. Outside is loud and buzzes with cars and noise, but inside is a wondrous place. Inside there are intellectuals indulging themselves in the rows and rows and rows of adventure. Book after book demands to be lifted off the dusty shelves and to be read once again. I meander through each crevice and isle. My dainty fingertips run along the spines of each novel and a smile spills onto my face.
In my other hand, a golden library card. This card is the key to every treasure chest. There are so many valuable jewels hidden among these shelves, and it is my job to capture them. I pass from non-fiction, to biographies, to romance and mysteries. I can’t help but pick up almost every appealing book and leaf through its pages. Before I know it, I have three more under my arm and I don’t know if these works of art are enough to satisfy my hunger.
I exhale slowly as the librarian with purple thick rimmed glasses and big jewelry scans each cover. The glorious beep tells the computer that these books are mine, mine for three weeks. Three whole weeks. I’ve never been more grateful for the opportunities that lie behind these brick walls, or the atmosphere that fills with the smell of old books and crisp new pages. There is something about the life a library.

  18. the crisp smell of parchment crackling lightly as it bends under the weight of your fingers, the knowledge weighing heavily on your tongue as the written words pass through your lips and fill the air around you. Tainting reality with a pounding adrenalin, and consuming the real world with a spark of imagination.

  19. A powder lust that entices both the mind and a superior sense to comprehend an ability to touch, but not to feel. As wild as this encounter may seem, it is the reality that was once felt. It is a bitter gust, much like the wind, but its true form can only be revealed by its intentions. An odor can linger. The sent of unholy relations. They are of a world beyond our comprehension. The leave behind the aroma of a past life they live currently, if that is what the visual may call itself, then maybe its appealing sent will lead you to the image you've been searching for.

  20. It vibrated off the walls as it came closer, the ground shaking only slightly as it neared. I feared it. I craved it. It hit my heart and made it beat faster, adrenaline pulsing through me though I don't really know why. It front of me, it stopped. The quivering ground beneath my feet growing quiet. It was done, it was starting.

  22. The spice filled aroma was calling my name and it was just so hard to resist. My mouth began to water just looking at this thing. The juices ran through my taste buds. It was the most delicious thing I've ever tasted. There are many varieties of how this thing can be prepared but I only like it a specific way. May I have a second serving?
