Snow is a beautiful thing, for the most part. It gives us amazing things to look at in the cold dead winter. However, if it is not treated correctly it can be as deadly as fire. Everything has it's beauty in it but also every thing has a part to it in which can be destructive.
When i look at the snow sometimes it hurts my eyes, because its so bright, grass never usually does that. It makes you look at the world from a new perspective, but you only get to see that perspective for a short while depending where you live.
Wow that is so true. I love snow when it first falls, but now I'm just over it. Yesterday when the snow was melting I was walking home and I slipped and fell and now I just want the snow to be gone.
It gets dirty and ugly to look at only because of us. If we left it alone, or looked at an area where no one has touched the snow it's not dirty, it's beautiful.
i hate snow! when i grow up i am going to move to a place where it never snows! we work so hard to clean it off of everything just to have it snow again. its cold and wet and leaves all the plants dead. Im going somewhere where nature dosnt leave any residue!
The cold would kill all the plants anyway. if it is cold i would much rather have snow and it be white out than be looking at all the dead brown plants.
Snow is the same as rain. It is simply a byproduct of of the weather. Yes, it can be beautiful, but beauty and danger often go hand in hand. The most beautiful flower is in most danger of getting picked. It's rare to find one without the other, and that's why I find snow to be just a residue. It's left over from something the same as rain.
This winter snow is annoying me. I usually love it when it first comes here, but when it has been here for so long i become sick and tired of it. It becomes annoying and a bothersome thing. I now really hate snow...until next winter comes.
For as long as I can remember my mom has always said that she wants to leave the snow and move somewhere warmer. Well, wherever you go, there is always some type of weather that is in that area. Earthquakes on the west coast. Hurricanes in the southwest and the northwest. Tornadoes in tornado alley. Every state has something. In Illinois it just happens to be snow, snow, and more snow. Snow at times can be a beautiful thing, like the rains that end the drought; however, snow could be considered a natural disaster. One person is going to see things differently than the next. Maybe that one person believes snow is the weirdest thing they have ever seen, maybe another will think its the best, and another will despise it. All weather has its ups and downs, yet snow seems to have the most of each.
The snow will always beautify the earth. But when we destroy nature with houses, roads, etc. , snow becomes this annoying obstacle... covering and destroying everything we have built. BUT what about mother nature? The earth itself.. Haven't we covered and destroyed everything the earth has built? Where snow looks most gorgeous is on the trees and in vast blankets over fields, but on our driveways and parking lots is where snow loses it's beauty.
You have to make the best of it. Go outside and make a snowman or a snow angel. Or just stay inside, drink some hot cocoa, sit by the window and admire the snow.
Is it still beautiful? In a way, yes. It is beautiful for the simple fact that its a beautiful reminder of what winter is. Many may say no to this question because of all the hardships it puts us through in the 2-3 month time span but what if there was a reason for it all ... you never know.
snow, to me, is almost never pretty. The only place i ever find snow pretty is in pictures. I also believe that snow, like everything else, has an uglier side, a side that is cruel and destructive.Snow can be pretty in some peoples eyes but it can also be something that no one wants around, especially when its trapped cars and broken things that you care about. There is no exception to the fact that everything has an uglier side.
Actually winter is suppose to be a season of mourning. In greek myth Hades wife, Perstephone, has to go to the under world to be with him while her mother mourns her daughter. Everything dies and snow covers all life. Maybe you should look at winter like that also. That may change your perspective on how winter looks. Maybe it's suppose to look ugly so we can mourn what we lost. Either a human or the sun in summer.
Snow, not quite a parasite or a beautiful wonder. I believe that it's there mainly to make us believe more in the enchanting power of nature in all of its glory. To believe that something is either a bully or a beautiful wonder is to dangerous in the sense that everything and anything can be beautiful, but everything and anything is also a monster. Snow is perhaps not a legacy to those in the north where snow is constant every winter. But snow is not just the residue of a winter's golden days. Snow is a legacy, because the angel's magic makes the ground soft and white, tempting us to play a little longer in the frozen paradise before dooming everyone around, because staying out in it too long can be lethal to the future generations of humanity. Somewhat like the apple with Adam and Eve.
I think snow is the most beautiful, yet horrible effect of winter. I like the snow because of all the events you can do with it, like sledding, building stuff, and snow ball fights. you cant do that with anything else besides snow. Thats why i think snow is a legacy of sorts. It way be a pain to shovel and clean and the after math slushy crap sucks, but in the now, snow is beautiful. looking at a undisturbed, snowed on area is a peaceful kind of beauty and it is amazing.
I Feel Like Winter & Autumn Have A Similar Vibe. If You Think About It. Autumn Is So Beautiful; Yet Everything Is Dying. Winter Is So Breathtaking. Although, It May Make Our Lives Difficult At Some Times. It's A Beautiful Disaster; Winter. Cold, Bitter, & Overlooked. It Comes & Goes. There's Just Something About It. Something In The Way It Moves. I Think Its Pretty Gr8.
The main idea here is that beauty=destruction. Everything that is considered beautiful has a dangerous, destructive side to it. We plant flowers in our gardens because they look pretty, but then we discover that they are actually an invasive species, and watch as they choke out all the other plants. Snow can be gorgeous, but too much of it isn't fun anymore, it's frustrating. And on occasion, it is deadly.
The white wonderland that lays at our feet is only temporary, just like a fantasy. You can't hold it forever, and just when you think you can, it vanishes into a puddle of clear liquid. I suppose that is what makes snow and winter so presious. You can only have it for a short while, and what you do with that short while is what makes the white landscape all the more beautiful.Even if you car is covered is covered in the debris you make those seconds last. My family and I do group shoveling. We have some of our friends over and we shovel the driveway, then we all dust off the car, but we can only use our hands. After that we build snow forts with the shoveled snow. Those are the memories i always want to remember. Those memories only last a short while though. Just the same as the snow and winter. When i walk home i run my hand along the snow and make little snowballs, i know this makes me sound five, but i really love the feeling of snow and when i ever get the chance to hold it i take that chance. I guess you just have to make with what you got and hope the season doesn't drown you in the frozen snow.
I agree with what Kevin said, everything has its beauty, but at the same time beauty can create pain. The snow looks like a wonderland as it slowly floats down from clouds, but step outside and you begin to feel cold and wet. The snow looks so beautiful, but it comes with flaws. Nothing in this world is perfect. Even though we don't want to believe it, we live in a broken world and everything results in pain some way or another. This is when you have to take matters into your own hands. know that not everything can be in your control. Terrible things will happen, but you have to focus on the positive. Sit inside and drink a warm cup of tea as you watch the snow storm outside. Protect yourself from the cold and you won't get hurt.
Snow is beautiful, but only when fresh fallen and untouched. Once people walk through it and dirt mixed into in, it begins to mutate into something not as wonderful. I have personally never liked snow. I was done with snow within the first week of it snowing. You cannot take the good without the bad, snow looks pretty, but it causes crashes. There is no give or take in the situation, every year there are crashes because of the snow; but every year we love looking at it and playing in it.
I hate the snow because it means that it's cold out. I think I might be cold blooded because of how insanely cold i get in 60 degree weather. I'm surprised i survived this winter without freezing to death. Also, driving in it sucks. The other day i was driving and i got stuck in a snow drift. literally the whole neighborhood came to help get my car un stuck.
But hey, snow brings one good thing; it cancels school.
After all of the cold weather and snow we have had lately, I would think that 60 degrees would be hot! But I do understand what you mean, though I completely disagree because, well, snow is fluffy and amazing. Driving is a scary thing, but at least it isn't as bad here as it gets in Alaska. And school? I would rather be forced to watch Barney for several hours straight than have school cancelled. That only means more days are taken away from our summer out in the WARM weather.
I agree with Katie on the school thing, I don't like having snow days because I prefer to have the warmer days off. I'd much rather be stuck in a building all day when I hate the weather outside than when I could be outside enjoying it.
Winter is my least favorite season. I hate the cold. Snows okay the first time and then all the times after that it just annoys me to no end. The only good thing about snow is that when it does fall it means its slightly warmer or it couldn’t. Other than that, I dread it. I’m a summer person; I prefer the warmth and being able to go outside withOUT a million layers of clothes on that just make me itchy. I’ll admire it in pictures and what not, but that’s only because I don’t have to be any where near it.
Snow is apart of what I'd like to call the Beauty conundrum: If something is beautiful, then it's beauty will be chaotic or lead to chaos. Snow may make for some excellent pictures, but when it comes down to it, snow might as well be humanity's only predator. Every winter, the freezing white layers take many lives in one shape or another, whether it be blinding a driver off the road or becoming another victim of Hypothermia. And yet, the layers make for joyous times, such as sledding and snowball fights. Snow is both a legacy and a parasite because of the conundrum it causes.
I agree with you Austin, snow is a beautiful thing, but it's beauty is equal to the destruction it can cause, if you don't treat it carefully. I know some people would disagree with my statement that snow is beautiful, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. what I think is beautiful another may think is hideous.
I love snow for the same reason i love Christmas. Just think every year you want it to snow on christmas because if it doesn't snow or there isn't snow on the ground it just doesn't feel like christmas. Am i right? Snow is different from any other seasons, because no two snowflakes that fall are the same.
Snow is very beautiful when you first see it fall to the ground, it's like a winter wonderland to just stand under it and watch the snowflakes melt on your tongue or clothing, but when it starts to snow ALL THE TIME then i just want it to just go away and hibernate for the summer. It is a pain to drive in because i keep drifting off the road and almost going in a ditch. Snow is good once in awhile but not every week; it starts to annoy a person when you can't even get out of your walkway or driveway to go to work or school.
I think snow is like a lot of other aspects of our lives: we enjoy it, and we want it as long as it doesn't affect us. It's beautiful from afar, and we love to admire it, but the second it invades our lives, we hate it. We don't understand the negative affects until after it's too late. Snow is beautiful but destructive.
I love snow, from a distance. It's beautiful until you walk outside and you're literally slapped in the face with frigid, dry air, and you can't feel your whole body. I prefer fall.
Snow is like people. They can be beautiful in some instances, and destructive and ravenous in others. And, like the cold of the snow, prolonged exposure can annoy us and aggravate us. And, like death that we will all meet one day, snow eventually melts and is returned once again to the Earth
Snow is a beautiful thing, for the most part. It gives us amazing things to look at in the cold dead winter. However, if it is not treated correctly it can be as deadly as fire. Everything has it's beauty in it but also every thing has a part to it in which can be destructive.

DeleteIt gets dirty and ugly to look at only because of us. If we left it alone, or looked at an area where no one has touched the snow it's not dirty, it's beautiful.

DeleteIs this just because you hate shoveling your mile long driveway?
DeleteWinter time gives you a break from all the green, which if you ask me i get sick of looking at sometimes.
Deletei would rather move to where the is no cold at all. I think the cold is just a burden for everything, winter in general is not a good time.
