Hey guys. It's The Niz again. I know I said that I wouldn't be back until next year's Wrestlemania week, but I just keep using WWE for examples in my posts so I've decided to stick around. By the way, if you're wondering who is writing the WWE poems that are posted on Mr. T's classroom wall at central, that's me. (You know. The ones that are about the Main Events of Wrestlemania XXXI and Extreme Rules 2015.)
Well, as you may have guessed, I have another post for you and it's a good one where I can use something that has happened in the WWE as an example. So, here we go.
For well over a year after they made their WWE Debut, The Shield; made up of Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, and Roman Reigns, dominated the WWE's Tag Team Division and where ever they thought there was an injustice being done in the WWE. The Shield would have their team given the nickname "The Hounds Of Justice" with their signature remark of "Believe In The Shield." As well as their team as a whole had been labeled, each member was also given their own nickname describing the role they played in the team. Seth Rollins was "The Architect" because he was the one to form the team. Dean Ambrose was the "Lunatic Fringe" seeing how he would do some crazy dangerous things to achieve victory. And Roman Reigns was "The Powerhouse" and that one kind of speaks for itself. They were a force to be reckoned with. A team so dominating, not even Superstars like John Cena, Sheamus, Ryback, or even CM Punk could stop them. (That's Rollins on the Left. Reigns in the Center, and Ambrose on the Right.)
Anyway, after some phenomenal battles with Evolution, made up of Triple H, Randy Orton, and Batista, The Shield was officially declared the most dominant tag teams of the modern era. But it would all come crumbling down one Monday night on RAW, when Seth Rollins would attack his Shield brethren and join Triple H and Randy Orton seeing that Batista had quit earlier that night. Jaws dropped as fans watched Rollins attack Reigns and Ambrose with a Steel Chair.
After claiming that The Shield was all his idea, Rollins would move on and continue to work his way up to the top by backstabbing and manipulation at one point Curb Stomping Ambrose's head through Cinder Blocks one night on RAW. Rollins and Ambrose would feud over the fact that Rollins stabbed Ambrose and Reigns in the back for months. All the way leading up to money in the bank, where after Kane, who was also working with Triple H, attacked Ambrose and took out every one else, would help Seth Rollins capture the Money In The Bank Contract, guaranteeing Rollins a future WWE World Heavyweight Championship shot whenever he pleased and labeling Rollins with the nickname of "The Future."
After months and months of feuding with Superstars like Ambrose and John Cena, Rollins would begin to bid his time, waiting for the moment he could cash in and become Champion. After numerous failed attempts thanks to Dean Ambrose, Rollins would watch as his former brother in The Shield, Roman Reigns, would win the 2015 Royal Rumble match, advancing Reigns to the Main Event of Wrestlemania XXXI for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
Rollins knew that at Wrestlemania, it would be his time to cash in his contract and show up Reigns at the grandest stage of them all by becoming the new Champion. And that is EXACTLY what Rollins did. After a grueling, painful, but entertaining match between Reigns and Brock Lesnar, just as it looked as if Reigns was going to become Champion, Rollins cashes in his contract and making the match a Triple Threat match, curb stomping Reigns and Lesnar, and pinning Reigns, Rollins had finally made his way to the very top in the WWE. He was the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
So, here's my question to you guys now that I've told you the story of Seth Rollins: Would you be willing to hurt those who consider you their friend in order to get to the top? Are you willing to backstab those who love you and call you family in order to achieve victory? Are you willing to step on those who help you if you knew there was a greater prize in your future? Are you willing to sell out yourself in order to buy in something you only could dream of?
It was later revealed in a special showing on the WWE Network in a documentary called "Destruction Of The Shield" why Rollins did what he did. You see, before The Shield even made their Debut, Rollins, Reigns, and Ambrose all made a pact promising they were all going to do whatever they had to do in order to make it to the top in the WWE, no matter how they would do it. Reigns almost did it at Wrestlemania after he won the Royal Rumble. But Rollins truly did what he thought was needed in order to get to the top.
So, Thank You for bearing with me through this LONG post, and leave your interesting and creative responses to the post's question in the comments section below and I'll get to you as soon as I can.

What if I am hurting someone to keep them from being hurt by some force far greater?
ReplyDeleteInteresting question. But that's not what I meant. I mean would you hurt someone if you knew it would be taking you farther.
DeleteHeaven forbid I give a certain answer for a hypothetical scenario! Who knows what my judgment will be in that/those moments? However, if what you are really asking is if I trust my character enough to do what I believe is best, then yes. I can't answer your original question. In the words of Mr. Torres, "It just doesn't jive."
DeleteWell said. ^

ReplyDeleteIf we're talking any goal that you desire I think it's ignorant of you don't do your up most to achievement I'll quote an anime called Berserk -a pillar in the anime community-
ReplyDeleteContext -one of the two main characters, Griffith is a leader of a tight not mercernary group extremely influential in the tide of a war, his best soldier, Guts, is in the distance listening in on a convo Griffith is having. Guts views Griffith as the closest thing he has to a friend and would die for him until he hears this quote.
"They are my able soldiers it's true, they are dedicated comrades who sacrifice themselves for my dream so that it might be real. But that does not make them friends. In my mind a true friend never relies on another's dream. The man, who would be my friend, must have his own reason for living, beyond me. And he should put his heart and soul into protecting his dream. He should never hesitate to defend it, even against me. For me to call a man my friend, he must be equal to me in all respects."
One should always out there happiness and dreams before any others
Here's a link to the video forgive poor animation this is very old and has sense been remastered I do recommend giving the movies a watch but be cautioned It's is MA

Also forgive typos
DeleteTypos are forgiven and I really like the way that this was put. I don't watch much anime anymore, but I couldn't have put this better myself.
DeleteYea dude it was huge into integrating anime in to western culture! Like up there with Akira, and Howls moving castle spirited away the classics man :D
DeleteWait, Noland. You had a DREAMCAST!?! I still have mine! Granted it's VERY old and I doubt it still works, but it's nice to know someone else other than me knows what a Dreamcast is!
DeleteWell, I put a whole long blog post and now I may as well answer it. If it were my decision, it would depend on how well I knew the(se) people. If I don't know them all that much, I probably would manipulate myself to the top. I know that sounds sadistic but I'm just being honest. But if it were me hurting someone I know very well as a person, like my best friend Ryan, I probably wouldn't. I'd find another way to get myself to the top.
ReplyDeleteFun fact about this post, The SHIELD is an acronym. There should be periods after every letter in the word 'SHIELD.' Here's what the acronym stands for:
DeleteS-Sierra
H-Hotel
I-India
E-Echo
L-Lima
D-Delta
See? It is an acronym for those code words, so every time you read "The Shield" in this post, it should be read 'The S. H. I. E. L. D.'
Absolutely not. It is better to gain nothing and keep your loved ones than gain everything but lose your loved ones. Nothing is worth that.
ReplyDeleteI like how this was put, but no offence Katie, I knew something like that would be your response. You're too nice a person.
DeleteI agree, and I like the way you said that.
DeleteI would never hurt a friend just to have something good come out of it for me. A friend would trust me, and hurting them would be something that I could not live with. And if they never forgave me, I could never forgive myself.
ReplyDeleteYet another GREAT response. Because it all comes down to trust. It's like when you want to believe someone is telling the truth and all you have is their word. If their word is all you have, how much can you trust a person?
DeleteWell, like I said, it's your choice,
ReplyDeleteAs happy as I am to see someone from South Campus responded to my post, your response would also make a great blog question. But here's something most people don't know about the WWE: It's ALL STAGED. The winner is never who the better man is, it's chosen ahead of time before the match even begins. And most of the time, they over do the impacts. Like stomping when they throw punches to make it sound like it hurts even more. Sometimes, they don't even hit each other. They make out look like they are.
