I have mixed emotions about these quotes. I feel like in some situations they are perfect, but in others they don't seem fair, like someone passing away. It's those times that I feel like these quotes don't apply, but I know deep down, they really do. But I do think they are great to live by!
While I don't exactly live by them, those quotes do bring major importance in my life, so I agree with you in the sense they help me understand the purpose of things
-"Never judge someone until you, yourself, have been through their experiences" I try to remember this every day because while we may become impatient with other people or consider them lesser than us, we have to remember that we don't know everyones' story and we don't know why they are the way they are or what shaped them to become the person they are. I would hope someone would have the same consideration and compassion for me, so I try to do the same.
I'm also a devout Catholic, so I'm one of those people who believe that "everything happens for a reason", there have been so many times in my life where I've looked back and realized why something happened the way it did. While I may have been confused or disappointed at the time, I came to realize later that it was a good thing that happened the way it did. I have faith (as often as I can) that God takes care of me.
And one other "quote" but really a short story is a favorite of mine, and I love it so much that I carry it with me always, it helps remind me that I'm never alone in my struggles, and that everything will be ok, here it is:
"Footsteps in the Sand" One night a man had a dream. He dreamed He was walking along the beach with the LORD. Across the sky flashed scenes from His life. For each scene He noticed two sets of footprints in the sand. One belonging to Him and the other to the LORD.
When the last scene of His life flashed before Him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of His life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times of His life.
This really bothered Him and He questioned the LORD about it. LORD you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me.
The LORD replied, my precious, precious child, I Love you and I would never leave you! During your times of trial and suffering when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.
I know I got a bit churchy, but those three are my personal favorites.
My favorite quote that i live by is, "Fearless is getting back up and fighting for what you want over and over again, even though every time you've tried before, you've lost." -Taylor Swift.
This reminds me to never give up on something, to always continue, even when you feel as if you are at your breaking point. In my life, I feel like I have been to my breaking point more times than I can count, but I know that if I keep trying, that I will sooner or later be able to over come it.
Some quotes I live by are: "Today is the oldest you've ever been and the youngest you'll ever be again, so smile." "It's now or never; I ain't gonna live forever; I just wanna live while I'm alive." I live by these quotes because they bring such truth to my life. I feel like they tie together, as there is no way to stay alive forever and everyday should be an accomplishment. In a weird and probably unhealthy way, I live thinking that I might die tomorrow so just do it today. Unless it's homework, then I tend to wait. But, I still think that life is a gift and I'm not going to live it pleasing other people because if I die tomorrow, I want to know everything I did, I did for me. So, that's what I try to live my life by. ^u^
Like I said in sams post, I love Taylor Swift. I have been in love with her since the third grade. Anyway, its hard for me to think of one line I like of hers, so I'll tell you two. One is "So casually cruel in the name of being honest." To me this line is just so deep and meaningful I love it. The second one is, "I took your matches before fire could catch me, so dont look now. Im shinning like fireworks over your sad empty town." I know these are lyrics but I couldnt really think of any quotes
