What is SUMMER???
What I wonder is, what does summer really mean for us? For me, summer is a time for me to catch up on my reading list, work on my art, and be driven crazy by my little sister. For others, such as my friend, it's a time of sports and sleep. I know some kids sleep away summer while others love to be as active as possible. What does your summer consist of? I'm looking forward to hearing wehat you guys do over your summer break!(:
For me, mostly, my summer consists of thinking and sleeping. And reading. And internet. And running. And finding a job. Basically, all the boring stuff.
ReplyDeleteMy summer= internet+ swimming+ golf+ friends+ babysitting+ cousins+ being irritated by my sister+ summer homework+ cleaning+ basic needs+ more of the internet. My Mom is convinced I'm addicted to the internet but really I just prefer it over sitting and watching the dumb tv shows her and my sister watch all the time.
ReplyDeleteFor me, my summer will be mostly practicing the *HECK* out of my guitar (Because I plan to get a scholarship for that and I need to be, roughly, at least a trillion times better than where I'm at now to even be CONSIDERED for a place like Berkeley or Julliard...), and drawing WAY more than I anticipated (Because I now want to draw a picture for my mother's friend, a police officer, who got hit in his cruiser by a drunk driver while on duty. On top of that, I have to create at least thirty more drawings in about six weeks in order to even be considered to be in an Arts and Crafts Fair-like thing to earn some money since I can't find a job because I have no car. AND I am partnering with my brother, who is a professional photographer, for his wedding shoots; my job will be to take one of his pictures of the bride and draw it out and shade it according to what the bride wants. I will get probably 20% of that sale. And to top it all off, my grandmother wants me to draw about five or six drawings before she leaves, for my extended family that lives in New Orleans and that I see about once every two or three years, because they have yet to get a drawing of mine and they want to see how well I do. I have no idea why, though, because I really can't draw all that well anyway!), and reading books upon books from the AP English III Summer Reading List. And I get to spend a week or two with my best friend, who moved to Michigan last year and who I haven't seen since she left.
ReplyDeleteYeah. I have to do all of that while praying madly that my family can catch a break from bad things, and finally relax. And then comes the College Search-Out, that which I've hardly even scraped the surface of. It's hard to find colleges with excellent Music and Fine Arts programs (and great Music Business Classes) that don't have a reputation for being incredibly rowdy and rather unfocused as a whole. And It still depends on whether or not we move....
At any rate, I really wish I could have just said "Sleeping and laying around the house all day," but I have had only two hours of sleep in the past five days (working on charcoal drawings. In fact, I got paid for the first time a week ago! I drew and shaded Jimi Hendrix for one of my Mom's Bosses, more as a 'Thank You' because he gave me and original Jimi Hendrix record, and he ended up giving me $60 for it, too. That's enough to buy me a new 48-Pack of Prismacolor Pencils OR a new TalkBox for my Guitar! :D), and that number will only decrease before summer is over. And I haven't even listed HALF the stuff I need to be doing this summer. That's just most of the main idea.
I'm assuming that my summers will only get busier from here on out, so I'm also trying to plan things out so I don't drown in all I have to do....
Anyway, how has YOUR summer been going? :D
wow my summer has been like a combonation of all this. I have been laying around, being annoyed by my sister, and drawing an insane amount. I am loving my summer so far(: Hope all you guys are having a great summer((((:
ReplyDeleteFor the next week my summer is null and void. I have to sit and do nothing for the next week while I recover from surgery. I got my deviated septum fixed yesterday and I'm on the most powerful pain killers I've ever had and my face still hurts! But it'll all be worth it when I can breath out my nose and be able to actually smell things without shoving it in my face and get over a simple cold without having an ear infection.
ReplyDeleteIt's my key lime pie, sitting next to the pool while i'm laying on a noodle
