    Reader, writer, cartoonist, fighter
She fought ‘till the end, waiting for a chance
And what she found, was so much greater
    An opportunity.
    To change.

Sorry I didn't pick a date-of-death, but I thought I'd leave that up to God if you don't mind.

  2. I figured I'd go ahead and jump into this, and though I don't really understand what we're supposed to do here, I figured I'd just go ahead and take the approach Emily did.

    Time, time, why not rhyme?
Here lies a path of sarcasm and wrath
Here lies a body of something rather gaudy
That resides within this mind and will grind
Out the great wonder which will tend to sunder
All beforeheld imagination! So lay down your carnation
For while it will die and out dry
And the brilliance beneath this great stone heath
will live forever in its endeavor!
Here lies a person that plotted to unworsen
The very world that has gone ahead and curled
Itself around the depraved and the enslaved!
Her written word has twisted and blurred
The very foundation of which this nation
    Was drawn and born upon!
    time, time, why not rhyme?
For this hole will soon be coal
And her time lived out and about
For she no longer must be a serious enrollee
As she has passed on from a world already gone!

I plan to have a rather large gravestone to hold this, as I plan to live a large life that will impact many and leave a path of paved gold, never to be ravished.

And yes, I will live to be nine hundred and sixty-three years old. The future is what you make it, yes?

    Still Quite Young,
    But Ready Nonetheless.
    God was Waiting for Her,
And with Him, She’s at Her Best.

    I Need Nothing More Than
    The Lord’s Undying Love.
But I Can’t Help But Wonder,
Did I Point to Him Enough?

    I Hope I Left a Legacy;
Can I Really Live in People’s Minds?
    Will Anybody Remember Me?
    If Not, I Surely Tried.

In His Eyes, I am Successful.
    I Walk Alone Nevermore.
I Will Live In His Kingdom,
    With Him, Forevermore.

I'd also rather not choose a date to die. Honestly, that is not up to me. It is not 'up to' anyone on Earth. God can decide that for me, thank you.

  4. Question... are we supposed to take just a phrase from our long epitaph and put it.on our head stones for tomorrow? Is that our assignment?

    God's greatest gift to us
She never stopped or took a pause,
A loving wife and caring mother
    She made me a father
    She lived a thrilling life
    Always wanting more
And left us on the edge
With our hands out stretched to catch
    The last breath
That fell from between her lips
    Which created an eclipse
But before God took her soul
And before she had to go
She filled our hearts with laughter
And taught us to chase after
All those dreams we held so dear
To see and hear all the fear that the world bestows
    Experience life's blows and lows
And feel the awe of love above all else
    Indicative of evol.

** I purposely spelled evil wrong. I just like how love spelled backwards is evol. Eminem, in one of his songs stated that, and ever since it has stuck in my head.

The body that I bestow the world
The body that I have left behind
is one enlightened with the power of wisdom,
touched with the innocence of laughter,
    quieted by experience,
and freed by the affection of others.

The soul with which I depart
The soul that belongs to me
    Is ready for the journey
That has once made the person I am, me
So when you set out on your own journey,
pray that the road is long,
full of adventure, full of knowledge.

*The last three lines were an excerpt from the poem entitled "Ithaca" by Constantine P. Cavafy.

    1. I just read that poem, Alec, and it was truly enlightening. Thank you for sharing. At the cost of possibly being cliche, I really liked the content of the last stanza:

And if you find her poor, Ithaka hasn't deceived you.
So wise you have become, of such experience,
that already you'll have understood what these Ithakas mean.

What does it take to understand what these "Ithakas Mean"?

      Simply beautiful.

  7. The only thing i want on my tombstone is" look who's 50". Not because i didn't know what else to put but considering the fact that im 15 if you think about it its not just two words and a number it has a deeper meaning then that. Or atleast to me it does :)
